This is a 30 year old Miltonduff that was bottled under the Faultline label for K&L Wines. It’s aged in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 52.3% ABV.
Nose: Tons of citrus up front with a big oak blast coming in soon after. Cinnamon and cloves with a bit of brine.
Palate: Oak is very heavy up front before pepper, coriander, cardamom and cloves swoop in. One of the more spice-rich malts I’ve had.
Finish: Very bitter with mostly oak.
Rating: 82/100 – The finish was a big bummer sadly.
Value for the money: These were around $140 when they came out which is a good deal generally speaking for a 30 year malt, but I wouldn’t buy another at that price.
