Maker’s 46 Review

This is part of Maker’s Mark core lineup. It’s a NAS bourbon that is finished in a barrel that contains individual french oak staves and bottled at 47% ABV.

Nose: Heavy oak, slight acetone notes with red grapes, cinnamon, and wheat.

Palate: Delicate wheat and berries up front with oak swooping in shortly afterward. Cinnamon with pepper and vanilla.

Finish: Wheat with chocolate and oak.

Rating: 88/100 – The added French oak staves make this too oaky for some, but I find it adds some nice complexity to the otherwise sweet Maker’s product.

Value for the money: Around me these retail for under $30 which makes this a great buy.
