Ledaig 13 (Gordon & MacPhail 2000/2014 Binny’s Selection Cask #69) Review

This is a 13 year Ledaig bottled by G&M at 56.9% ABV that was selected by Binny’s.

Nose: Pungent peat with slightly rubbery and muted floral notes. Citrus notes lurk in background.

Palate: Strong peat here with lemon juice and vanilla pudding. Heavy ash note amidst a very young oak.

Finish: Ashy peat remains dominant with a splash of grapefruit juice.

Rating: 83/100 – The citrus notes throughout really help cut the strong peat and help balance this out nicely.

Value for the money: This was $70 at Binny’s, and I think that’s a pretty fair price.
