Glenmorangie The Original Review

This is the lowest-end Glenmorangie that is part of it’s core range of expressions. It’s 10 years old and bottled at 43% ABV.

Nose: Pineapple infused malt with subtle oak, herbal notes, and anise. A bit of isopropyl in the background.

Palate: Quite dry with young oak, fresh barley, and subtle sugars.

Finish: Very short and dry with a hint of fruit.

Rating: 79/100

Value for the money: I paid about $30 for this, but I don’t think I’d recommend it at that price.

      1. Yes, they do hide the age statement quite well. Don’t know why, but it might be because they want to downplay the value of age statements. If so, I can’t quite follow them; to me, a whisky ought to have some age on it, which might be snobbery on my part – but I can live with that.

Anyway, as you’ve got many excellent reviews, please keep up the good work!
