This was a pick from the Glenmorangie Cask Masters which was finished in an ex-manzanilla casks and bottled at 46% ABV.
Nose: Clean malt with peach and apricots blended with an earthy soil note from the manzanilla casks. Oak with a damp/rotting profile.
Palate: Subtle sherry up front with very earthy malt. Aged oak and sultanas in the background.
Finish: Long with minerals, oak, and a bit of barley.
Value for the money: This retailed for around $120 and I think I’d pass on it again at that price unless you’re a Glenmorangie collector/fan.
