This is a discontinued expression from Glenmorangie. It is a 12 year malt finished in Sherry casks and bottled at 43% ABV. This was the precursor to the Lasanta.
Nose: Nice blend of malt and sherry with a few passing wisps of berries, vanilla, and brine.
Palate: Malt is prominent alongside sherry influence – sherry has an especially sweet profile. A hint of spice on the tip of the tongue.
Finish: Dry, but long. Intensely sweet with some heat.
Value for the money: These retailed around $50 originally which isn’t too bad, but secondary is probably closer to $100 now which is an easy pass.
