Glenmorangie Burgundy Wood Finish Review

This is a discontinued 12 year expression from Glenmorangie that was finished in a Burgundy cask and bottled at 43% ABV.

Nose: Very similar to sherry finish – slightly sour but sweet with green grapes and musty oak. Pleasant, but light overall.

Palate: Very light and fruity up front with strong strawberries and raspberries. Vanilla with moscato wine profile – crisp, sweet, and slightly dry.

Finish: Vanilla and oak with fruits fading rapidly while mushroom notes arrive.

Rating: 88/100 – One of the more unique Glenmorangie finishes I’ve had.

Value for the money: These were around $60-$70 retail which is a fair price. I believe I paid around $100 for this which I wouldn’t pay again.
