This is a Four Roses OESV single barrel selected by Liquor Barn. It was aged for 10 years and bottled at 57.2% ABV.
Nose: Very floral with lots of fresh corn alongside black currants and vanilla. Oak is subtler on nose than I traditionally find with these FR single barrels.
Palate: Rich corn and vanilla up front with lots of botanicals swirling around. A little vanilla and dark fruits emerge after a minute.
Finish: Dry, but fairly long. Oak remains with subtle anise and floral notes.
Value for the money: These barrel picks usually range between $50-$60 and are some of the best buys in bourbon currently.
