Four Roses Single Barrel OBSO (Flippin’ Charitable Private Selection) Review

This is a 10 year 8 month OBSO Four Roses Single Barrel selected by an individual and sold to raise money for a charity and bottled at 55.1% ABV.

Nose: Loads of fruit up front – grapes, bananas, red apples, pears. Honey and cocoa nibs round out a very sweet nose.

Palate: Fruits take a darker turn towards prunes/dates with spiced oak, and dried herbs.

Finish: Quite dry with freshly sawn oak and bitter fruit rinds.

Rating: 82/100 – I find these OBSOs to generally be quite fruity on the nose, but rarely does it remain as sweet throughout for some reason. A pretty average FR barrel pick.

Value for the money: This was sold for slightly above a typical pick if I recall correctly due to the charity portion. I passed on it, and I would pass on it at current FR standard retail of $65 as well.
