This was part of a mystery review/sample swap hence the cryptic label. This is a 10 year single barrel Royal Lochnagar bottled at 58.2% by Faultline.
Nose: Very, very light overall. Floral with slight brine, tangerines, and dry oak.
Palate: Quite hot up front followed by ether, funky tobacco, rotten apple, and plenty of pepper.
Finish: Very light/short – straw and lots of minerals
Rating: 71/100 – Not very impressed with this expression – disjointed and too light all around.
Value for the money: These retailed around $50 at K&L when they had them, but I would still pass at that price.
