This is a NAS 100% wheat whiskey that was distilled by Journeyman Distillery and bottled at 59.45% ABV.
Nose: Overwhelming wheat – very earthy and akin to putting your head in a bowl of freshly ground grains. Sawdust, caramel, raw celery, and an isopropyl note.
Palate: Wheat is powerful with buttery oak and a hint of vanilla.
Finish: Wheat lingers as it dries out with charred oak.
Rating: 82/100 – You can tell this is quite young, and the 100% wheat makes it very intense from a grain-forward perspective.
Value for the money: These retailed around $60 which is fairly steep given how young it is. An interesting experiment though if you’re curious about 100% wheat whiskies.
