This is the one of the few core expressions from Dalwhinnie, and the one you see the most at liquor stores. It’s a 15 year expression bottled at 43% ABV.
Nose: Crisp fruits and honey, heather, light and airy malt with honeydew melon. Light and refreshing.
Palate: Sweet barley with fruit up front chased by peppery oak and mint.
Finish: A bit smoky with lemon juice, oak and tobacco.
Rating: 84/100 – Simple, but well executed.
Value for the money: These retail for $50 and I think it’s a great bargain purchase for a solid scotch. Would be great for an intro scotch as well.
