Ballantines 17 Review

This is a 17 year old blend that won Blend of the Year in the 2010 edition of Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible and World Whisky of the Year in the 2011 edition. It’s bottled at 43% ABV.

Nose: Very floral with loads of honey. Heather and exotic spices surround the malt.

Palate: Floral and honey notes carry through with butter and rich oak with cardamom.

Finish: Sweet, vanilla laden oak with black pepper and green grapes.

Rating: 92/100 – A great blend – one of my favorites.

Value for the money: These retail fairly cheap – around $60+ and I think it’s a steal for that price.
