Bruichladdich Black Art 3.1 Review

This is a 22 year expression from Bruichladdich that is made up of an unkown number/type of casks. The Black Art series are typically funky blends of malt that have very unique profiles among Bruichladdich’s lineup.

Nose: Vanilla with an almost sherry like profile. Lots of fruits: apricots, abundant black cherry, and currants.

Palate: Slightly sweet and smoky malt met with peppercorns. Seasoned oak and green grapes – quite acidic and tannic.

Finish: Long finish with vanilla, peaches, oak, minerals

Rating: 92/100 – An impressive blend and certainly one that’s out of the ordinary.

Value for the money: These retailed for around $250 which is slightly high, but I’d be happy to pay up to $200 or so for one.
