This is an NAS expression from Amrut (rumored 4-5 years old) and bottled at 61.8% ABV.
Nose: Caramelized, sweet oak with an acrid note. Slight isopropyl note buried beneath a big wave of malt with slight smoke. Strike me as similar to an Irish whisky profile.
Palate: Earthy malt with heavy does of dry oak and hay.
Finish: Quite sweet as it lingers with hay and ashy oak.
Rating: 88/100 – Again, reminds me of an Irish whisky to a degree blended with a Dallas Dhu/Glen Mhor in terms of the grass/hay notes.
Value for the money: It goes for around $70 retail which I think is a pretty fair price.
